The Centennial Time Capsule on Founders Mall was removed last week ahead of construction of a Memorial to Enslaved Persons, slated to begin this summer. The capsule was be safely stored, unopened, at the Texas Collection until its new location on Traditions Plaza, near the Immortal Ten statue and Carroll Field arch, is ready.

The column that stands over the time capsule has also been moved to secure storage until the site on Traditions Plaza is fully prepared.

The time capsule was buried in 1945 to celebrate Baylor's centennial, and will be opened in 2045 for the university's 200th birthday.

The ceremony included the family of Catherine Collins, a member of the Class of 1945, as well as Student Body President Nick Madincea.
