Temperatures have officially cooled, and sweater weather has arrived. While the leaves in Waco may not be turning colors quite yet, there’s another (arguably better) way to get your fall fix: pumpkin-flavored treats.
Here are our 10 favorite ways to get your pumpkin fix around Waco:
1. Pumpkin Pie Cyclone at Katie’s Frozen Custard — This local favorite mixes chunks of real pumpkin pie into Katie’s classic, delicious custard, creating a flavor that will keep you coming back for more.
2. Pumpkin Patch at Common Grounds — Sure, ’tis the season for pumpkin spice lattes — but CG’s pumpkin flavored chai latte is a seasonal staple on their fall menu (and a student fan favorite)!
3. Pumpkin Schmear at William Hoyt Bagel & Brew — While grabbing that Pumpkin Patch, visit the food truck in Common Grounds’ parking lot, where William Hoyt Bagel Co is rolling out a pumpkin schmear for their bagels this season. You heard us.
4. Raw Pumpkin Caramel Oats at Harvest on 25th — If you add the words “healthy,” “pumpkin” and “caramel” together, THIS is what you get — and boy, is it good.
5. Cream Cheese Pumpkin Kolache at Czech Stop — Can Czech Stop be considered a Waco staple even though it’s located in West? We think so. Give yourself a break from mid-terms and take a little drive out to Czech Stop for their cream cheese pumpkin kolache!
6. Pumpkin Spice Donut at Nightlight Donuts — The donut flavor of your dreams, brought to you by the two Baylor grads who own the Nightlight Donuts food truck.
7. Pumpkin Empanada at Jimenez Bakery — If you haven’t heard of Jimenez Bakery, be glad you’re reading about it here. The Jimenez family specializes in fine Mexican and American pastries — and for the fall, they roll out a pumpkin empanada that is a treat.
8. Pumpkin Spice Chatte at Waco Cha — You need this in your life because “pumpkin spice chatte” is very fun to say. If you’re a lover of boba tea, you’ve probably visited Waco Cha, either at the Waco Downtown Farmer’s Market or at its food truck around the city.
9. Pumpkin Pancakes at World Cup Café — Pumpkin-spice pancakes while supporting a good cause sounds like a Saturday morning spent right. Need we say more?
10. Pumpkin-Shaped Loaf at Falk Bakery — Look, if you’re not actually a fan of pumpkin-flavored things, that’s okay. There’s still a place for you in this world — and it’s at the Waco Downtown Farmer’s Market buying this pumpkin-shaped (but cranberry-walnut-flavored) loaf of bread from Falk Bakery.
Sic ’em, pumpkin lovers!
